Course Description:
​​​​​​​Men and Women have different dental care needs. This course will differentiate the oral  care needs of both genders and explain the factors that impact their oral health and total wellness.

Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

• Identify gender specific social risk factors that impact oral health​​​​​​​
  
• Discuss the links between oral and systemic health that are gender specific
• Describe oral manifestations based on significant life events experienced in both men and women​​​
  
• ​​​​​​​Recognize ​​​​​​​oral manifestations prevalent in women based on conditions and diseases throughout their life span​​​​​​​
  
• ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Explain the history of gender related to oral health and its impact on creating legislation​​​​​​​
• Discuss barriers to dental care encountered by LGBT population
• Define LGBT and gender terminology
