Who this course is for: This BLS course is for Healthcare Professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
Course format: Step 1: Online for cognitive lessons (approximately requires 1-hour & 45 minutes to complete). This applies for initial training and renewals. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE PORTION FIRST PRIOR toREGISTERING FOR THE HANDS-ON PRACTICE SKILLS & TESTING . If you have not, pleaseCLICK HERE TO REGISTER Step 2: In-person hands-on skills practice and testing (approximately 45-minutes to an hour to complete).
PLEASE NOTE:Step1- must be completed prior to your scheduled hands-on practical skills session.
Course content: • Critical concepts of high-quality CPR • The American Heart Association Chain of Survival • 1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant • 2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant • Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques • Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant • Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant • Relief of choking for adult, child and infant • CPR with an advanced airway*
*Students work with a Basic Life Support Instructor to complete the BLS skills practice and skills testing. Upon successful completion of the cognitive and practical testing, the student will receive a course completion card within 24 hours.
